Östen Tönnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ingmar Back tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Axelsson in the 9th minute of play forced Dorotea BF's goalkeeper Ingmar Back to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Östen Tönnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frinnaryd IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Östen Tönnberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingmar Back breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. John Wall struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Svante Karlsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dorotea BF. Jan-Erik Asserlind kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Kenneth Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingmar Back showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Östen Tönnberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Svante Karlsson made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Dick Löfgren sent off a good shot on target. Jimmy Nordin hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute of the match Jan-Erik Asserlind shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Svante Karlsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Dorotea BF's John Wall in the 34th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Svante Karlsson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Frinnaryd IF through an amazing save. After 37 played minutes Dorotea BF got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Finman. In the 39th minute of the match Åke Vesterberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ingmar Back skillfully saved the ball. In the 39th match minute, Dorotea BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Åke Ivarsson to maneuver through the defense. Kenneth Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Kenneth Dahlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingmar Back took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Östen Tönnberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frinnaryd IF's Östen Tönnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Östen Tönnberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Frinnaryd IF's Svante Karlsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Wall in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Östen Tönnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frinnaryd IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Östen Tönnberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 64 played minutes Dorotea BF got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Åke Ivarsson. A hard shot 65 in the game by Östen Tönnberg from a close distance when the talented Ingmar Back managed to make a qualified save. Dorotea BF's players were relieved. Ingmar Back made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kenneth Dahlberg in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Wall in the 75th minute of play forced Frinnaryd IF's goalkeeper Svante Karlsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronny Finman during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 78 played minutes Dorotea BF got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Finman. Frinnaryd IF's Östen Tönnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingmar Back didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Östen Tönnberg went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 91st minute John Wall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svante Karlsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sten Axelsson hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes Frinnaryd IF got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Boklund. The Dorotea BF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Frinnaryd IF's performance. The match ended with a win for Frinnaryd IF.
