Rudolf Häger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Magnus Lönn in the 13th minute of play. Frank Brovall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Asklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 18th minute Ingvar Svensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Häger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Göta booed when Vintrosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Bratt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Asklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Johansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lennart Johansson scored 1-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erik Asklund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anders Stenberg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 41 minutes in the game, Lennart Johansson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Erik Asklund having to interfere. Anders Stenberg charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anders Stenberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes Göta got a freekick which was hit by Anders Stenberg. 44 minutes into the game, Vintrosa's Lennart Johansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik Asklund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. A collision led to Vintrosa getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Casper Olofsson hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingvar Svensson made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Vintrosa's goalkeeper Rudolf Häger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Magnus Lönn. After a defensive mix-up in Vintrosa's zone, Ingvar Svensson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Häger came out of the goal and Ingvar Svensson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 71 played minutes Göta got a freekick which was hit by Albert Lundström. If Frank Brovall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Asklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Johansson in the 75th minute of the match. If Ingvar Svensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Magnus Lönn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rudolf Häger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Ingvar Svensson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Karl-Magnus Lönn came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Göta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Magnus Lönn couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Vintrosa's Rudolf Häger got control of the ball when Karl-Magnus Lönn tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Göta's Rudolf Häger threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ingvar Svensson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 93 minutes, Casper Olofsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vintrosa and the Göta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Casper Olofsson kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Göta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
