Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peder Grelsson in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patrik Ståhlman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Furuskogens Atletiska's Gösta Sjöström got a free kick in the 8th minute. The supporters of Furuskogens Atletiska booed when Djurgårdens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Holmgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrik Ståhlman made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Kent Holmgren sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kent Holmgren got free with Patrik Ståhlman in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kent Holmgren was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Patrik Ståhlman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Grelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Algot Olenberg's late challenge caught a Furuskogens Atletiska's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Algot Olenberg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Djurgårdens IF getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Algot Olenberg hit a great ball. In the 28th minute of the match Emil Ekenberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thor Björnberg skillfully saved the ball. If Arne Rudkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Oskar Klintæus kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Kent Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute Arne Rudkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thor Björnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Arne Rudkvist got free with Thor Björnberg in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patrik Ståhlman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kent Holmgren went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Peder Grelsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrik Ståhlman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peder Grelsson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th minute, Gösta Sjöström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Furuskogens Atletiska getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Gösta Sjöström hit a great ball. When Peder Grelsson came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Djurgårdens IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peder Grelsson couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the game, Kent Holmgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Patrik Ståhlman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the match, Furuskogens Atletiska's goal looked a bit too open when Peder Grelsson came free, but Patrik Ståhlman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arne Rudkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Thor Björnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Telin in the 92nd minute of play forced Djurgårdens IF's goalkeeper Thor Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arne Rudkvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Thor Björnberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
