The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per Gudmundsson during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes IF Elfsborg got a freekick which was hit by Per Gudmundsson. In the 8th minute, Dan Askstedt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hannes Apelquist. The goal made the score 1-0. Leonard Uggstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Skröder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Skröder in the 18th minute of play forced Brunekulle FC's goalkeeper Leonard Uggstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Uggstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ola Tunberg in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Brunekulle FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Robin Telin hit a great ball. IF Elfsborg's Daniel Bröms couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Brunekulle FC. The supporters of IF Elfsborg booed when Brunekulle FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sverker Boberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Bröms was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Allan Skröder succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sverker Boberg during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Brunekulle FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sverker Boberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Allan Skröder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonard Uggstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

A collision led to IF Elfsborg getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Daniel Bröms hit a great ball. Hannes Apelquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Askstedt went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Hannes Apelquist came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Brunekulle FC's Måns Nykvist. But to his dismay, Måns Nykvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. If Dan Askstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hannes Apelquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Måns Nykvist in the 82nd minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, IF Elfsborg's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Nykvist came free, but Hannes Apelquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Måns Nykvist in the 93rd minute of play forced IF Elfsborg's goalkeeper Hannes Apelquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the IF Elfsborg players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Brunekulle FC.
