In the 4th minute Petter Biörnberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Ålberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jörgen Jönssons short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Jörgen Ålberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 7 minutes, Esbjörn Sandberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spurs IF and the Fårösund players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fårösund booed when Spurs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esbjörn Sandberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörgen Jönsson got free with Jörgen Ålberg in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petter Biörnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Jörgen Ålberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Fårösund's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Bredberg came free, but Mats Lundin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mats Lundin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Bredberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Mats Lundin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Bredberg in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Fårösund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Wennerberg to maneuver through the defense. If Jörgen Jönsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Bredberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Lundin having to interfere. Melker Alebom's late challenge caught a Fårösund's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melker Alebom helped the player get up and apologised. In the 49th minute, Melker Alebom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Markus Nyqvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 50th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jörgen Ålberg. Spurs IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petter Biörnberg was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörgen Jönsson in the 87th minute of play forced Spurs IF's goalkeeper Jörgen Ålberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Erik Hägglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jörgen Ålberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörgen Jönsson in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Spurs IF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fårösund.
