The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gustaf Hägert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiph Sillén, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. If Nils-Emil Kinnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Per-Åke Göransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vejbystrand BK's Mark Fransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Vejbystrand BK from getting a goal against them. Nils-Emil Kinnman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Fransson having to interfere. Gustaf Hägert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sture Holmberg in the 14th minute of the match. Per-Åke Göransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mark Fransson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nils-Emil Kinnman showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Rikard Nordin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Finspång IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Rikard Nordin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Fransson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Charlie Dalgren fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vejbystrand BK's protests and gave Charlie Dalgren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Charlie Dalgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Rikard Nordin in the 27th minute really tested Mark Fransson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Nils-Emil Kinnman, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 33 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Mark Fransson was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Nils-Emil Kinnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Vejbystrand BK's Erik Samuelsson got a free kick in the 37th minute. Claes Eskilsson kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Gustaf Hägert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sture Holmberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sture Holmberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils-Emil Kinnman made a kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Vejbystrand BK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Emil Kinnman came free, but Mark Fransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils-Emil Kinnman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Fransson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Finspång IFK's zone, Filiph Sillén stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaf Hägert came out of the goal and Filiph Sillén tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mark Fransson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils-Emil Kinnman in the 69th minute of play. If Nils-Emil Kinnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Per-Åke Göransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nils-Emil Kinnman came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Finspång IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils-Emil Kinnman couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Vejbystrand BK's zone, Per-Åke Göransson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Fransson came out of the goal and Per-Åke Göransson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gunnar Tinglöf charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gunnar Tinglöf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 88 played minutes Vejbystrand BK got a freekick which was hit by Gunnar Tinglöf. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Finspång IFK had played much better football throughout.
