After having played for 6 minutes, Hans Tinglöv managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bruksvallarna IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Tinglöv was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bertil Lindell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Gustaf Hägert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bruksvallarna IFK's zone, Nils-Emil Kinnman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie Hjortsberg came out of the goal and Nils-Emil Kinnman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Per-Åke Göransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie Hjortsberg having to interfere. 15 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Finspång IFK's Per-Åke Göransson fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Gustaf Hägert made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Bertil Lindell sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, Albert Karlsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Finspång IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bruksvallarna IFK the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Finspång IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Karlsson to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Hjortsberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Per-Åke Göransson's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Per-Åke Göransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie Hjortsberg having to interfere. Leif Vallman's late challenge caught a Finspång IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leif Vallman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th match minute, Bruksvallarna IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Vallman to maneuver through the defense. Bruksvallarna IFK's Freddie Hjortsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Emil Kinnman in the 38th minute of play. Finspång IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Åke Göransson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Hjortsberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils-Emil Kinnman made a kick off. Bruksvallarna IFK's Freddie Hjortsberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Bruksvallarna IFK from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Bruksvallarna IFK's Hans Tinglöv got a free kick in the 54th minute. Stig-Åke Jespersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils-Emil Kinnman in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddie Hjortsberg saved Bruksvallarna IFK from getting behind. Bertil Lindell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Bertil Lindell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bruksvallarna IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertil Lindell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per-Åke Göransson got free with Freddie Hjortsberg in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Per-Åke Göransson in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Freddie Hjortsberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Stig-Åke Jespersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. A hard shot 88 in the game by Per-Åke Göransson from a close distance when the talented Freddie Hjortsberg managed to make a qualified save. Bruksvallarna IFK's players were relieved. In the 97th minute, Per-Åke Göransson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bruksvallarna IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Finspång IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
