Oskar Blomkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vilhelm Lindberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Dag Ahlfors took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vilhelm Lindberg. Vikarbyn IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Pontus Magnusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. Richard Östlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilhelm Lindberg having to interfere. In the 34th minute Pontus Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörn Högberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dag Ahlfors charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Vikarbyn IK's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Östlund came free, but Vilhelm Lindberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pontus Magnusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörn Högberg having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Richard Östlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avesta's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Östlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vilhelm Lindberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vilhelm Lindberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Blomkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Staffan Tolsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Vikarbyn IK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vikarbyn IK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
