The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Walter Ekelund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. A collision led to SKENE IF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Vincent Häger hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the game, Kenny Överman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SKENE IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Säffle the free kick. 21 minutes into the match, Ove Skark notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SKENE IF's Karl-Erik Wallman. Karl-Erik Wallman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sonny Bergman didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when SKENE IF's Nils-Erik Alströmmer shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Ove Skark took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl-Erik Wallman. Karl-Erik Wallman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Jonathan Skog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Bergman having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Säffle got a freekick which was hit by Mattias Lindqvist. Mats Holm struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Sonny Bergman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SKENE IF. Sonny Bergman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mats Holm went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After 46 minutes of play, SKENE IF's Jonathan Skog made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sonny Bergman was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bror Hjeltman was the one to do the kick off. SKENE IF's Mats Holm got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Skog during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Säffle booed when SKENE IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Skog didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils-Erik Alströmmer in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sonny Bergman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jonathan Skog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67thth minute of the game Nils-Erik Alströmmer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Säffle's Sonny Bergman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 68 minutes into the match, SKENE IF's goal looked a bit too open when Bror Hjeltman came free, but Karl-Erik Wallman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jonathan Skog was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. After 69 played minutes SKENE IF got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Skog. Karl-Erik Wallman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias Lindqvist in the 72nd minute of play. Sonny Bergman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nils-Erik Alströmmer went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Walter Ekelund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sonny Bergman having to make a save. Mats Holm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc Bergström charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc Bergström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Säffle getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Marc Bergström hit a great ball. The supporters of SKENE IF booed when Säffle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position.
