Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Smedby ais's Georg Magnusson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hannes Granberg came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Smedby ais's Patrik Hegg. But to his dismay, Patrik Hegg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Arne Fogel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Dahlkvist in the 8th minute of play. Patrik Hegg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Dahlkvist in the 16th minute of play forced Smedby ais's goalkeeper Arne Fogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rikard Stålman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Fogel having to interfere. Arne Fogel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Dahlkvist in the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Smedby ais defense, Rikard Stålman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arne Fogel. The Smedby ais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Fogel should have stopped the shot. Patrik Låsberg hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Patrik Hegg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smedby ais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Hegg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rikard Stålman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Fogel having to interfere. Arne Fogel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Bammerman in the 41st minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arne Dahlkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Arne Fogel managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Knutby IF's Rikard Stålman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 56th minute Patrik Hegg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Granberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Knutby IF's Patrik Låsberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arne Fogel. That made the score 2-2 after 58 minutes of play. Rikard Stålman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Arne Fogel made a huge save. Rikard Stålman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Fogel having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Knutby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Georg Magnusson came free, but Hannes Granberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Smedby ais getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Michel Forsberg hit a great ball. The long shot by Jan-Erik Hultstrand in the 82nd minute really tested Arne Fogel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Knutby IF booed when Smedby ais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Forsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 minutes, Patrik Hegg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Smedby ais and the Knutby IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. 91 minutes in the game, Arne Dahlkvist fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arne Fogel having to interfere. Rikard Stålman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne Dahlkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Fogel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
