Casper Hammarbäck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 7th minute of the match Arvid Lind sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casper Hammarbäck skillfully saved the ball. Alvar Vall made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Hans Hedlund sent off a good shot on target. Hans Hedlund who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Alvar Vall when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Paul Åman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Hammarbäck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Patrik Blomquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Casper Hammarbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Smygehamn FF! The goalkeeper, Alvar Vall, was totally fooled by Pajala's Orvar Gulliksson, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 31st minute, Ingemar Söderström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 34 minutes, Hans Hedlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pajala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Hedlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hans Hedlund came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Pajala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans Hedlund couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Smygehamn FF's zone, Nils Smefeldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvar Vall came out of the goal and Nils Smefeldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 46 minutes, Hans Hedlund made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Smygehamn FF's Alvar Vall tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nils Smefeldt to strike the kick off in the second half. If Verner Ström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Smygehamn FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Blomquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ingvar Eriksson charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ingvar Eriksson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Smygehamn FF defense, Nils Smefeldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvar Vall. The Smygehamn FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvar Vall should have stopped the shot. Hans Hedlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Casper Hammarbäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrik Blomquist in the 85th minute of the match. Alvar Vall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Hedlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Blomquist in the 88th minute of play forced Pajala's goalkeeper Casper Hammarbäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Smygehamn FF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
