Mathias Stor struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Rikard Arenius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smålandsstenar. Stoby's Rikard Arenius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Boklund in the 6th minute of play. Rikard Arenius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathias Stor in the 8th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Mathias Stor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rikard Arenius, 1-0. If Billy Kjellkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Smålandsstenar's Lennart Biörkman got a free kick in the 11th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Billy Kjellkvist put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lars Forsell. Mathias Stor struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Billy Kjellkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Lars Forsell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Stoby's Sten Spets in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Smålandsstenar's goalie prevented a goal. If Billy Kjellkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Sten Spets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Forsell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Billy Kjellkvist came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Stoby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Kjellkvist couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Adam Boklund made the kick off in the second half. Jan-Olof Hultin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd match minute, Stoby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sten Spets to maneuver through the defense. Rikard Arenius didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adam Boklund went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute Billy Kjellkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Forsell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Smålandsstenar's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Kjellkvist came free, but Lars Forsell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes in the game, Billy Kjellkvist fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lars Forsell having to interfere. Sten Spets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Forsell having to interfere. Kristoffer Lennartsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rikard Arenius having to interfere. Rikard Arenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Boklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Sten Spets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Lars Forsell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Billy Kjellkvist got free in front of the goal in the 91st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Lars Forsell was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Sten Spets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Smålandsstenar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Stoby had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
