The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Kvillsfors FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Jonasson to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Per-Erik Granström from long distance, 9 minutes into the match, got Viggo Andreasson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sebastian Stigsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Svanberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Blanck in the 16th minute of play forced Skövde's goalkeeper Viggo Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Jonasson charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Jonasson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Aaron Jonasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Björn Svanberg struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Sebastian Stigsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde. After 31 minutes Kvillsfors FK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Ahlgren who took care of the corner kick. Skövde's Pål Kielstedt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sebastian Stigsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Bengt Blanck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kvillsfors FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt Blanck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viggo Andreasson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gustav Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Björn Svanberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastian Stigsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gustav Åberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt Blanck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Viggo Andreasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Skövde got a freekick which was hit by Ture Glanselius. Viggo Andreasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustav Åberg in the 65th minute of the match. Bengt Blanck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viggo Andreasson having to interfere. Bengt Blanck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Viggo Andreasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernst Hellström got free with Sebastian Stigsson in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bengt Blanck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Viggo Andreasson having to make a save.
