The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stig-Åke Fogel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kjell Kilberg having to make a save. Kjell Kilberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olof Nilsson in the 5th minute. If Arman Kämpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 minutes, Olof Nilsson made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rossoneri's Kjell Kilberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stig-Åke Fogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Kjell Kilberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Rossoneri's Kjell Kilberg got control of the ball when Olof Nilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Olof Nilsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stig-Åke Fogel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kjell Kilberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Fogel in the 36th minute of play. Rossoneri's Kjell Kilberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Rossoneri from getting a goal against them. If Håkan Hellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olof Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arman Kämpe was the one to do the kick off. If Allan Karlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilhelm Alrot got free with Tomas Jonasson in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rossoneri's Kjell Kilberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Fogel in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Lekeryd booed when Rossoneri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Ove Gallberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Olof Nilsson made a precise shot to the right of Kjell Kilberg. Rossoneri's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Stig-Åke Fogel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kjell Kilberg having to make a save. Per-Arne Forsell hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The supporters of Lekeryd booed when Rossoneri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Håkansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjell Kilberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Thorsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olof Nilsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kjell Kilberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. When Harald Håkansson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. In the 79th match minute, Rossoneri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harald Håkansson to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Lekeryd getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Sven Målare hit a great ball. Kjell Kilberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilhelm Alrot got free with Tomas Jonasson in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olof Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Kilberg having to interfere. If Olof Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lekeryd's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
