In the 2nd match minute, Lekeryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Frisck to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernt Engström during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 6 minutes into the game, Stig-Åke Fogel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rune Kinnman. Stig-Åke Fogel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hasslarp IK's zone, Olof Nilsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Kinnman came out of the goal and Olof Nilsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 19 minutes on the clock, Sören Bruhn commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lekeryd fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Lekeryd:s Tomas Jonasson showed great skill when he stopped Gösta Beckman:s penalty. Håkan Hellbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Kinnman having to interfere. If Allan Karlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Håkan Hellbom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lekeryd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hasslarp IK the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Lekeryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Hellbom to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Stig-Åke Fogel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Håkan Hellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Hellbom couldn't finish the play. In the 66th match minute, Hasslarp IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrik Stenkvist to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Jonasson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joacim Söderström in the 69th minute. Hasslarp IK's Rune Kinnman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Fogel in the 70th minute of play. When Håkan Hellbom came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Lekeryd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Hellbom couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Hasslarp IK booed when Lekeryd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Fågel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sven Målare fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lekeryd's protests and gave Sven Målare a yellow card for diving instead. Rune Kinnman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Fogel in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Håkan Hellbom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Kinnman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
