The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Magnusson kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Matthias Gunnarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Ersman in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Karl-Oskar Gulliksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sturkö IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Oskar Gulliksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingemar Jansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Skellefteå's Jan-Olof Jelm got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Jan-Olof Jelm kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Robin Målare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Henry Jakobsson fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sturkö IK's protests and gave Henry Jakobsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Skellefteå booed when Sturkö IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven Strömberg hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Robin Målare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Olsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Gunnarsson having to interfere. Matthias Gunnarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Olsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Karl-Oskar Gulliksson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ingemar Jansson. Skellefteå's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Oskar Gulliksson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Folke Jonsson made the kick off in the second half. Folke Jonsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ingemar Jansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Folke Jonsson scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ingemar Jansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 60 minutes of play, Sturkö IK's Folke Jonsson made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ingemar Jansson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Skellefteå's Ingemar Jansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Jonsson in the 66th minute of play. Daniel Olsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Matthias Gunnarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Folke Jonsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingemar Jansson having to interfere. Ingemar Jansson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Oskar Gulliksson's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Skellefteå's zone, Karl Vester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingemar Jansson came out of the goal and Karl Vester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl-Oskar Gulliksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthias Gunnarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Olsson in the 88th minute of the match. Nils-Erik Kruuse charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nils-Erik Kruuse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sturkö IK getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Nils-Erik Kruuse hit a great ball.
