Pål Nyman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Hydén having to interfere. Börje Nordal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Hydén read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Johannes Nyström charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johannes Nyström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Veddige FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johannes Nyström to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Styrsö's zone, Börje Nordal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Hydén came out of the goal and Börje Nordal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Joar Abrahamsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Veddige FF booed when Styrsö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Holger Pilblad didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Veddige FF's zone, Christian Bennet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaf Klementsson came out of the goal and Christian Bennet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jim Hydén made an important save on a dangerous shot by Börje Nordal in the 29th minute. When Börje Nordal came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Veddige FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Börje Nordal couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the match, Börje Nordal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jim Hydén was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pål Nyman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jim Hydén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pål Nyman made a kick off. With a little luck, Veddige FF's Gustaf Klementsson got control of the ball when Christian Bennet tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Pål Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Börje Nordal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Hydén having to interfere. Jim Hydén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Nordal, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute, Börje Nordal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Hydén was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 67 minutes into the game, Pål Nyman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jim Hydén was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pål Nyman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jim Hydén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaf Klementsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Söderquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
