The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Ingelstad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pär Falck to maneuver through the defense. If Ingmar Eklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konrad Henriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Eklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. A collision led to Solna getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Tomas Lenberg hit a great ball. The supporters of Ingelstad booed when Solna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Lindgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tim Andersson's late challenge caught a Solna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tim Andersson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Solna booed when Ingelstad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viggo Nordström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Konrad Henriksson. Ingelstad's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Per Skark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per Skark in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Konrad Henriksson saved Ingelstad from getting behind. Patrik Hydén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nils Runeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ingmar Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Henriksson having to interfere. When Ingmar Eklund came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Solna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingmar Eklund couldn't finish the play. Tim Andersson was shown his second yellow card after 42 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 43rd minute, Tim Andersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ingmar Eklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Per Skark was the one to do the kick off. Konrad Henriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Skark, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Solna's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Arne Carlsson came free, but Nils Runeberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ingmar Eklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ingelstad's Konrad Henriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Ingelstad from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Solna left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ingelstad.
