Henry Friberger had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Michael Johnsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Dark Star's Michael Johnsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henry Friberger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Sven-Erik Apelqvist hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Söder was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Djurgården got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Håkansson. 54 minutes into the match, Djurgården's Christer Ingemarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrik Joensson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. André Aleberg's late challenge caught a Djurgården's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Aleberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, André Aleberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henry Friberger made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Melker Forsman sent off a good shot on target. Patrik Joensson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgården. Patrik Joensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Hjelm in the 67th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Hjelm in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrik Joensson saved Dark Star from getting behind. André Aleberg hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Christer Ingemarsson came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Djurgården fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christer Ingemarsson couldn't finish the play. Emanuel Söder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Friberger having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Djurgården had won after a very even match.
