Sven-Åke Gustafsson scored 0-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Helge Fernström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alvar Löv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Forsberg in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Sune Rolandsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Oskar Utfal in the 75th minute of play forced Linköping's goalkeeper Alvar Löv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Ingemarsson during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Väddö's Helge Fernström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kåre Grönlund in the 88th minute of play. Väddö's Dan Forsberg got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kåre Grönlund might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helge Fernström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kåre Grönlund ran back to his position shaking his head. The Väddö supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Linköping's performance. The match ended with a win for Linköping.
