With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Klementsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stig-Åke Andersson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Klementsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. When Richard Hermansson fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vrigstad IK's protests and gave Richard Hermansson a yellow card for diving instead. Mjällby AIF's Thomas Klementsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Mjällby AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Andersson came free, but Thomas Klementsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Klementsson having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Marc Öberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mjällby AIF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vrigstad IK the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Mjällby AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Öberg to maneuver through the defense. Mjällby AIF's Thomas Klementsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Mjällby AIF from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Mjällby AIF's Thomas Klementsson got control of the ball when Nils Jespersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Marc Öberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mjällby AIF's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Öberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 47 played minutes Mjällby AIF got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Åhlberg. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Linus Bruse to strike the kick off in the second half. Nils Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Klementsson having to interfere. Thomas Klementsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Andersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig-Åke Andersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mjällby AIF's Thomas Klementsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Andersson in the 70th minute of play. Nils Jespersson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Per-Oskar Skog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nils Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Klementsson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Nils Jespersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 94 minutes of play, Vrigstad IK's Stig-Åke Andersson made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Klementsson was left in no man's land by his defense there!
