After a rather tough play, Varnhem IFK's Jonas Lundgren got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Karl-Ove Zachrisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin Johansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Ek having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Karl-Ove Zachrisson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mörbylånga's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Ove Zachrisson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Olsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Douglas Stor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexander Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Lidberg in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Robin Johansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Ek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Öfverman kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Joachim Lidberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Johnny Alström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Ek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes, Krister Samuelsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mörbylånga and the Varnhem IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Krister Samuelsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Mörbylånga's Alexander Olsson threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joachim Lidberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Joachim Lidberg came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Mörbylånga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joachim Lidberg couldn't finish the play. Robin Johansson scored 1-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of John Ek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Mörbylånga players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Varnhem IFK were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joachim Lidberg to make the kick off. Johnny Alström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. John Ek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Joachim Lidberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mörbylånga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Sven Hafström charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven Hafström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sven Hafström hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Varnhem IFK's Alexander Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Lidberg in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Lidberg in the 69th minute of play forced Varnhem IFK's goalkeeper Alexander Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74thth minute of the game Karl-Ove Zachrisson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varnhem IFK's Alexander Olsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led Mörbylånga's Bengt-Åke Abrahamsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Alexander Olsson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Roland Åkerberg's late challenge caught a Mörbylånga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Åkerberg helped the player get up and apologised. Varnhem IFK's Alexander Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Zachrisson in the 77th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Karl-Ove Zachrisson made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Olsson. Varnhem IFK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Karl-Ove Zachrisson scored 4-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexander Olsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Varnhem IFK getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Jonas Lundgren hit a great ball. Alexander Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Åke Abrahamsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mörbylånga fans cheered their team off the field, for while Varnhem IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
