LINKÖPINGS FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ManAxel United the free kick. The supporters of ManAxel United booed when LINKÖPINGS FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torbjörn Lind didn't get a good kick on the ball. LINKÖPINGS FF's Sebastian Lidberg shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 12th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sven Tunander but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in LINKÖPINGS FF's zone, Sten Isaksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pontus Lindgren came out of the goal and Sten Isaksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Arne Uggla fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LINKÖPINGS FF's protests and gave Arne Uggla a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, LINKÖPINGS FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Uggla to maneuver through the defense. Sten Isaksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Pontus Lindgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When ManAxel United's Sten Isaksson in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LINKÖPINGS FF's goalie prevented a goal. Arne Ström might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pontus Lindgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arne Ström ran back to his position shaking his head. After 26 played minutes LINKÖPINGS FF got a freekick which was hit by Arne Uggla. Pontus Lindgren came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by ManAxel United's Sten Isaksson. But to his dismay, Sten Isaksson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 40 minutes, Arne Ström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ManAxel United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Ström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half ManAxel United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Konrad Ros made the kick off in the second half. Sven Tunander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Knutsson in the 52nd minute of play. Pontus Lindgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvin Öberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Sten Isaksson could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Pontus Lindgren however easily saved by the left post. When Sten Isaksson came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the ManAxel United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Isaksson couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Knutsson in the 62nd minute of play forced ManAxel United's goalkeeper Sven Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arne Ström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, LINKÖPINGS FF's goalkeeper Pontus Lindgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sten Isaksson. Pontus Lindgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sten Isaksson in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Arne Ström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Konrad Ros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sven Tunander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes into the game, Gösta Knutsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Arne Ström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pontus Lindgren having to interfere. ManAxel United's Arne Ström got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sten Isaksson struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pontus Lindgren, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The LINKÖPINGS FF players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
