After having played for 11 minutes, Allan Alegren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Färjestad BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Alegren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Rottne getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Bengt-Åke Bolander hit a great ball. Timmy Lindqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Walter Haeger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rottne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Färjestad BK the free kick. Filiph Björk kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The Färjestad BK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rottne were winning 0-1.

After 74 minutes of play, Färjestad BK's Allan Alegren made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karl-Åke Bogren was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Färjestad BK's Walter Haeger got control of the ball when Timmy Lindqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Sonny Blomkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Färjestad BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sonny Blomkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute Harry Ambjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Bogren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Färjestad BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viggo Nyström to maneuver through the defense. Färjestad BK were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Rottne to leave the ground with a draw.
