When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Alvar Haglund sped through Deegens IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karl-Ove Ålberg. If Joakim Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henning Bergqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Herman Ekström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dennis Utfal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Ekström having to interfere. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Deegens IF's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Ålberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Karl-Ove Ålberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Mellberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henning Bergqvist was the one to do the kick off. Herman Ekström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henning Bergqvist in the 56th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Joakim Sundström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rudolf Mellberg struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Karl-Ove Ålberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunnemo. The supporters of Deegens IF booed when Sunnemo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Browall didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herman Ekström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alvar Haglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Karl-Ove Ålberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Rudolf Mellberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Karl-Ove Ålberg, passed just outside the right post.
