After having played for 13 minutes, Gustaf Ekström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vårgårda IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaf Ekström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Arjeplog BK's Daniel Mattsson got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute of the match Sven-Olof Vestberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kurt Österberg skillfully saved the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Vårgårda IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Sjöberg came free, but Kurt Österberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Vilgot Sandwall sped through Arjeplog BK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christoffer Ekeberg. Kurt Österberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Sjöberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After taking down the ball on Arjeplog BK's corner Sven-Olof Vestberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kurt Österberg quite easily take care of the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Jimmy Sjöberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kurt Österberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, Jimmy Sjöberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arjeplog BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When Axel Grönberg came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Arjeplog BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Grönberg couldn't finish the play. Henning Anundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jimmy Sjöberg was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Gustaf Ekström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vårgårda IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arjeplog BK the free kick. After 52 played minutes Vårgårda IFK got a freekick which was hit by Gustaf Ekström. After 57 minutes, Patrik Blomberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vårgårda IFK and the Arjeplog BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Vårgårda IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrik Blomberg to maneuver through the defense. After 60 minutes of play, Vårgårda IFK's Gustaf Ekström made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christoffer Ekeberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Egil Gulliksson in the 65th minute of play forced Vårgårda IFK's goalkeeper Kurt Österberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilgot Sandwall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoffer Ekeberg having to interfere. If Vilgot Sandwall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arjeplog BK's Axel Grönberg got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jimmy Sjöberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmy Sjöberg in the 81st minute of play forced Vårgårda IFK's goalkeeper Kurt Österberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Grönberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Kurt Österberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaf Ekström in the 88th minute of play forced Arjeplog BK's goalkeeper Christoffer Ekeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
