Henning Stålberg's late challenge caught a Prässebo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henning Stålberg helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hovås IK's Henning Stålberg got a free kick in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Stålberg in the 8th minute of play forced Prässebo's goalkeeper Alf Julin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niclas Wallin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronny Blom having to make a save. Niclas Wallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Jönsätt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 played minutes Hovås IK got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Hjortsberg. 22 minutes into the game, Edvard Mellin lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Ronny Blom. Ronny Blom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niclas Wallin in the 26th minute. Ronny Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Mellin in the 29th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Hovås IK got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Lundgren. Börge Kinell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Prässebo's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Jönsätt came free, but Alf Julin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edvard Mellin in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronny Blom saved Hovås IK from getting behind. Edvard Mellin might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronny Blom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edvard Mellin ran back to his position shaking his head. Hovås IK's Frank Jönsätt got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Frank Jönsätt made the kick off in the second half. Börge Kinell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Julin having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Hovås IK got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Wennersten. When Edvard Mellin came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Prässebo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvard Mellin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Jönsätt in the 59th minute of play forced Prässebo's goalkeeper Alf Julin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st match minute, Prässebo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niclas Wallin to maneuver through the defense. Alf Julin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Jönsätt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Philip Tinglöf was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prässebo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hovås IK the free kick. With a little luck, Prässebo's Alf Julin got control of the ball when Börge Kinell tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Niclas Wallin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hovås IK's Henning Stålberg got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes in the game, Börge Kinell fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alf Julin having to interfere. Edvard Mellin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Frank Jönsätt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hovås IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Jönsätt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alf Julin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Börge Kinell got free with Alf Julin in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Frank Jönsätt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Börge Kinell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Edvard Mellin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ronny Blom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hovås IK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Prässebo.
