Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kåre Bäcklin started the match with the kick off. In the 9th minute Frank Jönsätt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magne Axelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Frank Jönsätt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erling Söderqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erling Söderqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Jönsätt in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Magne Axelsson saved Timrå FF from getting behind. Ronny Blom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kåre Bäcklin in the 23rd minute of the match. Hovås IK's Ronny Blom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Stenman in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Timrå FF getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Patrick Ekenberg hit a great ball. Sven-Arne Martinsson charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 36th minute of the match Mathias Salqvist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronny Blom skillfully saved the ball. Kåre Bäcklin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ronny Blom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Lundgren kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The referee ignored Hovås IK's protests and gave Douglas Lundgren a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Hovås IK got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Lundgren.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Jönsätt to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Hovås IK getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ludwig Bennet hit a great ball. Johannes Stenman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Vilhelm Vase hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jens-Åke Hjortsberg hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. If Johannes Stenman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timrå FF's Johannes Stenman got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Jönsätt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Magne Axelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Jönsätt, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Lennart Wennersten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hovås IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennart Wennersten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Douglas Lundgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magne Axelsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hovås IK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
