The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Frank Wallgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Årsta's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Wallgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alf Rolfsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th minute, Jan-Olof Eckegren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 9 in the game by Frank Wallgren from a close distance when the talented Alf Rolfsson managed to make a qualified save. Lit's players were relieved. Pontus Engström's late challenge caught a Lit's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pontus Engström helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Årsta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pontus Engström to maneuver through the defense. Paul Vallin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Hägg having to interfere. After 23 minutes, Jan-Olof Eckegren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Årsta and the Lit players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Årsta got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Olof Eckegren. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Bernt Gregersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lit's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernt Gregersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Hägg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Lit's goalkeeper Alf Rolfsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Wallgren. 37 minutes into the game, Lit's Paul Vallin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Charlie Hägg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Georg Löfgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Alf Rolfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Lit were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Georg Löfgren made the kick off in the second half. Alf Rolfsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Wallgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes, Karl-Oskar Molander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lit and the Årsta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lit's Karl-Oskar Molander got a free kick in the 61st minute. The Årsta fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Årsta's Georg Löfgren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 69 minutes, Frank Wallgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Årsta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Wallgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernt Gregersson 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charlie Hägg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Årsta's Vilgot Stenquist got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernt Gregersson got free with Charlie Hägg in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paul Vallin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charlie Hägg having to make a save. Bernt Gregersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Charlie Hägg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Vallin in the 79th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Bernt Gregersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charlie Hägg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Vallin, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Lit:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Årsta:s goal. The referee gave Årsta a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugo Arhenius, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lit's Alf Rolfsson. 2-1. If Bernt Gregersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes, Arne Billström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lit and the Årsta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arne Billström kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Årsta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugo Arhenius in the 93rd minute. If Frank Wallgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Årsta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
