After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Nicklas Albohm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genevad's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicklas Albohm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johan Näver breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Axel Kilberg fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tidaholm's protests and gave Axel Kilberg a yellow card for diving instead. Andreas Magnusson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johan Näver read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. A hard shot by Jan-Olof Johnsson from long distance, 40 minutes into the match, got Johan Näver's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 44th minute, Nicklas Albohm ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johan Näver was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Genevad's goalkeeper Harry Björkman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicklas Albohm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rickard Britz scored 2-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johan Näver, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
