Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kjell Hammarström got the match started through his kick off. Sven-Edvin Jönsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 9 played minutes, Eksjö's Freddie Gabrielsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johan Näver came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Eksjö reached it. Kjell Hammarström struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Johan Näver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eksjö. In the 18th minute, Ingvar Arenberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johan Näver was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 21st minute Ingvar Arenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Näver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Eksjö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Lundberg to maneuver through the defense. After 29 minutes, Kjell Hammarström made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Tidaholm's Johan Näver tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Johan Näver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Hammarström in the 35th minute of play. Eksjö's Karl-Michael Lilja proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Eksjö from getting a goal against them. After having played for 45 minutes, Pål Kilberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tidaholm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pål Kilberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Tidaholm players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Eksjö were winning 0-2.

Ingvar Arenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Näver having to interfere. When Kjell Hammarström fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eksjö's protests and gave Kjell Hammarström a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Eksjö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Hammarström to maneuver through the defense. When Axel Kilberg fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tidaholm's protests and gave Axel Kilberg a yellow card for diving instead. Axel Kilberg hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Johan Näver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Hammarström in the 59th minute of the match. Pål Kilberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ingvar Arenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Näver having to interfere. After some careless play in the Eksjö defense, Pål Kilberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Michael Lilja. The Eksjö fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Michael Lilja should have stopped the shot. 79 minutes into the match, Eksjö's goal looked a bit too open when Pål Kilberg came free, but Karl-Michael Lilja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Edvin Jönsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Karl-Michael Lilja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pål Kilberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Agne Wiklund charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agne Wiklund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tidaholm booed when Eksjö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agne Wiklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bo Ström hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Pål Kilberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Michael Lilja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Eksjö getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Christian Lundberg hit a great ball. Harald Arenberg charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harald Arenberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
