The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bengt Ahlquist made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Patric Fanström sent off a good shot on target. After 11 played minutes Kvidinge got a freekick which was hit by Thor Tidéksson. Kvidinge's Bengt Ahlquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patric Fanström in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patric Fanström in the 15th minute of play forced Kvidinge's goalkeeper Bengt Ahlquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bengt Ahlquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patric Fanström in the 17th minute of play. When Albin Isaksson fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Linderöd's protests and gave Albin Isaksson a yellow card for diving instead. Albin Isaksson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Linderöd got a freekick which was hit by Arvid Blom. Adam Hjelm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arvid Blom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Bengt Ahlquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Kvidinge's goalkeeper Bengt Ahlquist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingvar Axelsson. In the 36th minute, Gösta Sikström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Haglund in the 37th minute of play forced Linderöd's goalkeeper Felix Bogren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 minutes of play, Kvidinge's Gösta Sikström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Bogren was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Haglund was the one to do the kick off. Gösta Sikström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arvid Blom hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute of the match Marcus Brandin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felix Bogren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Kvidinge getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Birger Sundin hit a great ball. After having played for 66 minutes, Ingvar Axelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linderöd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingvar Axelsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute Ingvar Axelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Ahlquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patric Fanström in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Haglund in the 75th minute of play forced Linderöd's goalkeeper Felix Bogren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kvidinge's Frank Haglund in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Linderöd's goalie prevented a goal. 81 minutes into the match, Kvidinge's Frank Haglund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Bogren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Linderöd. Peter Söderqwist stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bengt Ahlquist. 1-1. Felix Bogren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gösta Sikström in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
