The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Linus Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Haglund in the 7th minute of the match. The referee ignored Edsbyn's protests and gave Tomas Ekeberg a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kvidinge booed when Edsbyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Ekeberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gösta Sikström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Linus Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edsbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Asserlind was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt Ahlquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Edsbyn fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, Kvidinge's Adam Hjelm got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Linus Fredriksson. Herbert Deckbergh's late challenge caught a Edsbyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herbert Deckbergh helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd match minute, Kvidinge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Deckbergh to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, William Forss got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Uno Fågel fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edsbyn's protests and gave Uno Fågel a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Forss in the 41st minute of play forced Kvidinge's goalkeeper Bengt Ahlquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Haglund made a kick off. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kvidinge's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Erik Skoog was slow to take the kick. During this time Edsbyn's players had a chance to rest. In the 56th minute, Edsbyn's Uno Fågel fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Bengt Ahlquist was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kvidinge's goalkeeper Bengt Ahlquist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gösta Sikström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Linus Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Sikström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Linus Fredriksson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Gabriel Asserlind could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Bengt Ahlquist made a huge save. In the 69th minute, William Forss fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Edsbyn's Gabriel Asserlind got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Haglund in the 74th minute of play forced Edsbyn's goalkeeper Linus Fredriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Haglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Linus Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Edsbyn's William Forss slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt Ahlquist. That made the score 2-1 after 77 minutes of play.
