Jonathan Magnusson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jonathan Magnusson made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Sverker Thorsberg sent off a good shot on target. If Sverker Thorsberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 22nd minute Roy Falck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Häger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sverker Thorsberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul Häger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Josefsson in the 34th minute of the match. Roy Falck might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paul Häger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Falck ran back to his position shaking his head. Paul Häger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Falck in the 40th minute of play. In the 45th minute Roy Falck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Häger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kent Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Svante Almstedt struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Paul Häger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karlsborgsverken. After a rather tough play, Åmotsbruk's Harry Isaksson got a free kick in the 53rd minute.
