When Valdemar Vase fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lakene's protests and gave Valdemar Vase a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Västerås booed when Lakene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Vase didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl Abrahamsson, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A hard shot 23 in the game by Roger Mellberg from a close distance when the talented Edwin Jonasson managed to make a qualified save. Lakene's players were relieved. Melker Brask didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Andreasson went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 33 minutes, Gilbert Lundström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Västerås and the Lakene players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Västerås got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Lundström. After some careless play in the Västerås defense, Stig Karlstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melker Brask. The Västerås fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melker Brask should have stopped the shot. After 37 played minutes Lakene got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Vase. Thomas Lidman kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Lakene's Edwin Jonasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Lakene from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Dag Fågel made the kick off in the second half. Lakene's Edwin Jonasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dag Fågel in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to Lakene getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Valdemar Vase hit a great ball. Hans Andreasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Melker Brask tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dag Fågel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Lakene's goal looked a bit too open when Dag Fågel came free, but Edwin Jonasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dag Fågel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin Jonasson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Västerås's zone, Hans Andreasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melker Brask came out of the goal and Hans Andreasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lakene's Herbert Vennersten got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edwin Jonasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Mellberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Västerås booed when Lakene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Vennersten didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Herbert Vennersten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Västerås's attack was well implemented in the 81st minute, but when Roger Mellberg was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Edwin Jonasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dag Fågel in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 played minutes Västerås got a freekick which was hit by Roger Mellberg. Edwin Jonasson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dag Fågel went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Melker Brask made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Andreasson in the 91st minute of play. Stig Karlstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Melker Brask tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
