The supporters of Gällivare booed when Borgstena FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Willig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sverker Andreasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Dan Fogel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolf Vedholm in the 23rd minute of play forced Borgstena FF's goalkeeper Stig Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Borgstena FF's Sverker Andreasson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Göran Malm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Fogel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sverker Andreasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gottfrid Ambjörnsson charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gottfrid Ambjörnsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Gällivare got a freekick which was hit by Gottfrid Ambjörnsson. Gällivare's Dan Fogel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sverker Andreasson in the 38th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Gällivare got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Pettersson. In the 45th match minute, Gällivare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Offendahl to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Sverker Andreasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Fogel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute, Rudolf Vedholm fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Stig Nykvist, passed just outside the right post. Rudolf Vedholm received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stig Nykvist came out and tried to block the shot, but Rudolf Vedholm slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 59th minute. Gällivare's Gottfrid Ambjörnsson got his second yellow card of the match in the 76th minute. The referee ordered Gottfrid Ambjörnsson off the ground. After 76 played minutes Gällivare got a freekick which was hit by Gottfrid Ambjörnsson. Dan Fogel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sverker Andreasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute, Göran Malm ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dan Fogel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 92 minutes into the match, Göran Malm notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Gällivare's Dan Fogel. Dan Fogel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Borgstena FF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gällivare had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
