Vårgårda IK's Leo Hake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tor Jansson in the 4th minute of play. The supporters of Högland booed when Vårgårda IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Åke Lundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfred Lustig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 played minutes Vårgårda IK got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Andersson. Tor Jansson struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Leo Hake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Högland. Ingvar Danielsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Leo Hake when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Högland's Karl-Ove Stenström got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Alfred Lustig came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Vårgårda IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Lustig couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Vårgårda IK booed when Högland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfons Hafström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevin Blomberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Lustig in the 35th minute of the match. Tor Jansson struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Leo Hake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Högland. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfred Lustig in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Blomberg saved Högland from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tor Jansson was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ingvar Danielsson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Vårgårda IK's Leo Hake. Leo Hake was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ingvar Danielsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Hake having to interfere. In the 61st minute Tor Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Hake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tor Jansson in the 62nd minute of play forced Vårgårda IK's goalkeeper Leo Hake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Högland's Kevin Blomberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Ek in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Alfred Lustig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Blomberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Vårgårda IK's Leo Hake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Danielsson in the 73rd minute of play. Tor Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Hake having to interfere. Leo Hake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tor Jansson's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Ingvar Danielsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Leo Hake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Paul Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Blomberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vårgårda IK getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Magnus Åberg hit a great ball. Leo Hake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Danielsson in the 97th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
