The audience was convinced that Christopher Backlund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonny Petersson was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When Olov Nyström fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trönödal's protests and gave Olov Nyström a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Trönödal's Olov Nyström got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 44thth minute of the game Christopher Backlund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Storsund's Jonny Petersson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Christopher Backlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trönödal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Backlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christopher Backlund was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Trönödal's goalkeeper Folke Wallander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roger Sandström might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonny Petersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger Sandström ran back to his position shaking his head. 59 minutes into the game, Christopher Backlund recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonny Petersson. Christopher Backlund showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Roger Sandström might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonny Petersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger Sandström ran back to his position shaking his head. Roger Sandström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonny Petersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Rolf Classon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 69th minute of the match Olov Nyström completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Olov Nyström a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 69th match minute, Trönödal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olov Nyström to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Storsund's Allan Billström tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 73 minutes, Rolf Classon made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Trönödal's Folke Wallander tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Storsund's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Åkesson came free, but Jonny Petersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Allan Billström's late challenge caught a Trönödal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Billström helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Storsund getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Allan Billström hit a great ball. 83 minutes in the game, Roger Sandström fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonny Petersson having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Trönödal's Roger Sandström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonny Petersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. If Christopher Matsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
