Valentin Fors succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. In the 17th minute, Arvid Bergqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 minutes, Magne Söderman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hakkas and the Holmön players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robert Dahlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joakim Berggren in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig-Åke Tham during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stig-Åke Tham kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Holmön's Sven-Erik Bryngelsson tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Robert Dahlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Wennerström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Walter Wennerström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holmön fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Holmön's Tobias Wållander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Fors in the 33rd minute of play. When Joakim Berggren fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holmön's protests and gave Joakim Berggren a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Holmön got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Berggren. When Hakkas's Valentin Fors in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Holmön's goalie prevented a goal. Simon Pilblad hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Tobias Wållander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tage Blomquist in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Erik Linberg in the 53rd minute of play forced Holmön's goalkeeper Tobias Wållander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes Holmön got a freekick which was hit by Casper Simonsson. Valentin Fors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Tobias Wållander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tage Blomquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Wållander having to interfere. Walter Wennerström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Robert Dahlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Fors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jan Bergkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Robert Dahlberg made a huge save. Tage Blomquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Walter Wennerström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Robert Dahlberg, 1-2. In the 81st match minute, Holmön was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Pilblad to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Jon Borre sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Holmön's Tobias Wållander didn't even have to move. After having played for 89 minutes, Walter Wennerström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holmön's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walter Wennerström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Valentin Fors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Holmön supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Holmön would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
