Emil Vinström struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Ulf Alin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mellansel IFK. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hubert Sundén in the 9th minute of play forced Mellansel IFK's goalkeeper Vincent Söderquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Gullabo's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Vinström came free, but Ulf Alin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Emil Vinström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellansel IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Vinström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulf Alin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Emil Vinström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the match, Gullabo's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Vinström came free, but Ulf Alin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Kjell-Arne Tomasson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vincent Söderquist. Mellansel IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell-Arne Tomasson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Alvin Hjortberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mellansel IFK's Vincent Söderquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvin Hjortberg in the 27th minute of play. Emanuel Åberg charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Åberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mellansel IFK's Emanuel Åberg got a free kick in the 28th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Alf Enegren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mellansel IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Enegren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emil Vinström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Alvin Hjortberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Söderquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alvin Hjortberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Emanuel Åberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. Emanuel Åberg hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alvin Hjortberg to make the kick off. Vincent Söderquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvin Hjortberg in the 52nd minute of play. Alf Enegren's late challenge caught a Gullabo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alf Enegren helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes Mellansel IFK got a freekick which was hit by Alf Enegren. In the 56th minute Kjell-Arne Tomasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Söderquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Enegren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Ulf Alin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 63rd minute, but Ulf Alin got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Gullabo hanging dry this time. After a rather tough play, Gullabo's Robert Thedin got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Alvin Hjortberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincent Söderquist having to make a save. Emil Vinström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ulf Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emil Vinström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Brander charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brian Brander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th match minute, Mellansel IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Brander to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Mellansel IFK getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Kent Björk hit a great ball. Kjell-Arne Tomasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Alvin Hjortberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvin Hjortberg in the 93rd minute of play forced Mellansel IFK's goalkeeper Vincent Söderquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vincent Söderquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell-Arne Tomasson in the 94th minute of the match. If Kjell-Arne Tomasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gullabo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mellansel IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
