The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eric Ekgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Magnus Josefsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Eric Ekgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Färnäs IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Ekgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnus Josefsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Häll in the 16th minute of play forced Färnäs IF's goalkeeper Jesper Henriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Färnäs IF's Jesper Henriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christopher Abrahamsson in the 21st minute of play. Hubert Eriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Jesper Henriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christopher Abrahamsson in the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Bernt Ivarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Färnäs IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mjölby the free kick. Bernt Ivarsson hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mjölby's zone, Stig Wallmark stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magnus Josefsson came out of the goal and Stig Wallmark tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Jörgen Magnusson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eric Ekgren made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eric Ekgren in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Magnus Josefsson saved Mjölby from getting behind. With a little luck, Färnäs IF's Jesper Henriksson got control of the ball when Adrian Häll tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Färnäs IF's zone, Adrian Häll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesper Henriksson came out of the goal and Adrian Häll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Färnäs IF's Stig Wallmark got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jesper Henriksson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christopher Abrahamsson's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Adrian Häll fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Henriksson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Färnäs IF's Christopher Karlsson got a free kick in the 71st minute. A hard shot 73 in the game by Adrian Häll from a close distance when the talented Jesper Henriksson managed to make a qualified save. Färnäs IF's players were relieved. A collision led to Färnäs IF getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Rickard Tolsson hit a great ball. If Adrian Häll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Ekgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Magnus Josefsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Eric Ekgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Färnäs IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mjölby eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
