Sjötorp RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karlskoga IF the free kick. Kjell-Arne Helander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils Bivall in the 15th minute. Vilhelm Wenerdahls short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Kjell-Arne Helander to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nils Billberg's late challenge caught a Karlskoga IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 44th minute Karl-Axel Linberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Magnusson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Erik Löfskog to make the kick off. Vilhelm Wenerdahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Nils Bivall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Helander having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Vilhelm Wenerdahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karlskoga IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilhelm Wenerdahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per-Erik Löfskog in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jerry Magnusson saved Karlskoga IF from getting behind. After some careless play in the Karlskoga IF defense, Karl-Axel Linberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerry Magnusson. The Karlskoga IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerry Magnusson should have stopped the shot. Sjötorp RK's Karl-Axel Linberg got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
