A collision led to Målilla IK getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Per-Olof Mellin hit a great ball. Tom Olenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hubert Sundström's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Tobias Alströmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Målilla IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Tobias Alströmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaj Billing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kaj Billing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tobias Alströmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Stockamöllan booed when Målilla IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Erik Bengtsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kaj Billing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Alströmer in the 21st minute of the match. Kaj Billing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Nässén in the 42nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobias Alströmer in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaj Billing saved Stockamöllan from getting behind. In the 45th minute, Gustav Dahlberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Stockamöllan's goalkeeper Kaj Billing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Målilla IK booed when Stockamöllan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Håkansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lars Nässén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Per Aspengren charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kaj Billing dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Lars Nässén recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
