With a little luck, Johanneshov IK's Rikard Sigfridsson got control of the ball when Morgan Carlsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Östen Hellqvist hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Thomas Sörman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ture Bergman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars-Erik Frykberg's late challenge caught a Mölnlycke FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars-Erik Frykberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute of the match Torsten Jelm shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rikard Sigfridsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Agne Falkrantz hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Erland Hedberg, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Jens-Åke Tidén charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens-Åke Tidén the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jens-Åke Tidén kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Sörman in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ture Bergman saved Mölnlycke FK from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, Johanneshov IK's goal looked a bit too open when Jens-Åke Tidén came free, but Rikard Sigfridsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mats Lägdin in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ture Bergman saved Mölnlycke FK from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mats Lägdin to make the kick off. Mölnlycke FK's Ture Bergman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Sörman in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Johanneshov IK booed when Mölnlycke FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Wenerdahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morgan Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Morgan Carlsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jens-Åke Tidén hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Morgan Carlsson during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Mölnlycke FK got a freekick which was hit by Morgan Carlsson. 70 minutes into the match, Morgan Carlsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rikard Sigfridsson. Johanneshov IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Morgan Carlsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 74thth minute of the game Mats Lägdin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mölnlycke FK's Ture Bergman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Morgan Carlsson struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Rikard Sigfridsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mölnlycke FK. Thomas Sörman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Mats Lägdin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ture Bergman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Lägdin, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Mats Lägdin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ture Bergman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
