With an all-out effort, Kättilstorp FK's Dan Kilstedt threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Axel Bergvall, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 14 minutes into the match, Klintehamn's Tony Andersson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Staffan Siggesson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Klintehamn's Tony Andersson got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lennart Persson's late challenge caught a Kättilstorp FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lennart Persson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kättilstorp FK booed when Klintehamn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Persson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Klintehamn's Dan Kilstedt got control of the ball when Karl Bark tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tony Andersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Staffan Siggesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Staffan Siggesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Andersson in the 35th minute of play. Staffan Siggesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Persson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Karl Bark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lennart Persson to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Klintehamn got a freekick which was hit by Hjalmar Gunnarsson. Lennart Persson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Staffan Siggesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kättilstorp FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Bark was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Klintehamn's Helge Alefors got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Lennart Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staffan Siggesson having to interfere.
