When Kennet Bengtsson fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slavia Uppsala's protests and gave Kennet Bengtsson a yellow card for diving instead. The Slavia Uppsala fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Slavia Uppsala's Ian Apelquist looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kennet Bengtsson got his second yellow card in the match during the 18th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Kennet Bengtsson kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ian Apelquist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Håkansson was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Slavia Uppsala's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Niclas Ekegren scored to the left of an out of position Leif Spets, making the score, 1-1. After having played for 36 minutes, Ian Apelquist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slavia Uppsala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Apelquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute, Niclas Ekegren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl-Ove Holm's late challenge caught a Slavia Uppsala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Ove Holm helped the player get up and apologised. Håkan Bergman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mattias Håkansson. Nyhammar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mattias Håkansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Apelquist in the 45th minute of play. When Ian Apelquist came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Slavia Uppsala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Apelquist couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Apelquist in the 48th minute of play forced Nyhammar's goalkeeper Mattias Håkansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Abrahamsson made a kick off. If Ian Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niclas Ekegren scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leif Spets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The long shot by Håkan Bergman in the 60th minute really tested Mattias Håkansson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ian Apelquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Håkansson having to interfere. After 66 minutes, Ian Apelquist made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Nyhammar's Mattias Håkansson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nils-Erik Vestlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Mattias Håkansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Apelquist got in the 72nd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mattias Håkansson handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Nyhammar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Nils-Erik Vestlund scored to the left of an out of position Mattias Håkansson, making the score, 2-3. Nyhammar's Mattias Håkansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Nyhammar from getting a goal against them. Leif Spets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Abrahamsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roland Landin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Apelquist got free with Mattias Håkansson in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Slavia Uppsala fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Slavia Uppsala's Ian Apelquist looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 94 played minutes Nyhammar got a freekick which was hit by Niclas Ekegren. If Ian Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Slavia Uppsala's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
