In the 36th match minute, Poskharen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torbjörn Bäck to maneuver through the defense. Rickard Bergsten took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Per Hökkvist. Poskharen FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mellerud's Jens-Ola Engström got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

Mellerud's Leif Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Stål in the 52nd minute of play. Torbjörn Bäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Leif Jernberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Poskharen FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Urban Danielsson scored to the left of an out of position Per Hökkvist, making the score, 1-3. Mellerud were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Poskharen FC's much stronger midfield.
