Håkan Fernström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Åke Klintæus in the 2nd minute of the match. Gustav Kullgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivar Jönsson charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivar Jönsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee ignored Vartofta BF's protests and gave Krister Kullander a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Vartofta BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krister Kullander to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Sorunda's zone, Alexander Valrot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torsten Söderberg came out of the goal and Alexander Valrot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Vartofta BF's Wictor Bållström in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sorunda's goalie prevented a goal. Torsten Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Valrot in the 16th minute of play. With a little luck, Vartofta BF's Håkan Fernström got control of the ball when Karl-Åke Klintæus tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Villiam Alströmer fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vartofta BF's protests and gave Villiam Alströmer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vartofta BF getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Villiam Alströmer hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Rickard Lövgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torsten Söderberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Valrot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, Karl-Åke Klintæus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorunda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Åke Klintæus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wictor Bållström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wictor Bållström came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Vartofta BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wictor Bållström couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustav Kullgren to make the kick off. Alexander Valrot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Torsten Söderberg made a huge save. Wictor Bållström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Wictor Bållström fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Håkan Fernström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Åke Klintæus, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Alexander Valrot struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Torsten Söderberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vartofta BF. Sven-Erik Runeberg hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Torsten Söderberg made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Alexander Valrot sent off a good shot on target. Vartofta BF's Alexander Valrot got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Gustav Kullgren made a precise shot to the right of Håkan Fernström. Vartofta BF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Åke Klintæus in the 88th minute of play forced Vartofta BF's goalkeeper Håkan Fernström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villiam Alströmer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Torsten Söderberg having to make a save. If Alexander Valrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vartofta BF's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Sorunda had won, even though Vartofta BF had held more of the ball.
