The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Södertälje's Lennart Holm got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute, Filiph Lindberg sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Södertälje's Ronny Brask didn't even have to move. John Ekerot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute John Ekerot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Brask saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Brask took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Ekerot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes, Tomas Örnberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Södertälje and the Mölle players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Södertälje got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Örnberg. Dag Västerstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uno Åström in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörgen Mellberg in the 24th minute of play forced Södertälje's goalkeeper Ronny Brask to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Krister Borre during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Södertälje's Krister Borre got a free kick in the 25th minute. Uno Åström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute Uno Åström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dag Västerstrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jakob Collin might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dag Västerstrand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jakob Collin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th minute, Uno Åström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dag Västerstrand. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 39th minute, Jörgen Mellberg made a precise shot to the right of Ronny Brask. Södertälje's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. A collision led to Södertälje getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Göran Östlund hit a great ball. Jörgen Mellberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Ekerot made a kick off. John Ekerot blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronny Brask having to make a save. Ronny Brask made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Ekerot in the 61st minute of play. If John Ekerot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Ekerot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jörgen Mellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jakob Collin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dag Västerstrand having to interfere. The supporters of Mölle booed when Södertälje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joakim Salkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Åke Hedin hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Södertälje's goalkeeper Ronny Brask, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, John Ekerot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Södertälje getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Claes Offendahl hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Södertälje's Jakob Collin got a free kick in the 97th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
