The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Grimsås defense, Mikael Hammarberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joakim Bergkvist. The Grimsås fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joakim Bergkvist should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Bjuråker FF's zone, Krister Uggstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jens-Åke Ersman came out of the goal and Krister Uggstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfons Blom's late challenge caught a Grimsås's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfons Blom helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Bjuråker FF getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Alfons Blom hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Grimsås's Jens-Åke Ersman threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bengt-Rune Lindberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alfons Blom kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Krister Uggstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt-Rune Lindberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jens-Åke Ersman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Grimsås booed when Bjuråker FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Hultman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Rune Lindberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Bjuråker FF got a freekick which was hit by Adam Pihl. 29 minutes into the match, Grimsås's Sven-Erik Hellgren broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 34 minutes into the match, Grimsås's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Oskar Carlsson came free, but Joakim Bergkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bjuråker FF's Per-Oskar Carlsson got a free kick in the 35th minute. Krister Uggstedt took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jens-Åke Ersman. Jens-Åke Ersman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Oskar Carlsson in the 44th minute of play forced Grimsås's goalkeeper Joakim Bergkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Per-Oskar Carlsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krister Uggstedt in the 57th minute of play forced Bjuråker FF's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Ersman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joakim Bergkvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikael Hammarberg in the 67th minute. When Bengt-Rune Lindberg came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Grimsås fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt-Rune Lindberg couldn't finish the play. Bjuråker FF's Jens-Åke Ersman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Rune Lindberg in the 70th minute of play. If Krister Uggstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikael Hammarberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Bjuråker FF's Per-Oskar Carlsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joakim Bergkvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Karl-Åke Vallander's late challenge caught a Bjuråker FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens-Åke Ersman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chants of Bjuråker FF echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Grimsås had held the ball for most of the match.
